Some Recent Achievements PDF Print E-mail

Lest the reader starts believing that TMGF is “talking the good talk”, but is it “walking the talk” yet alone “walking the walk”, consider the following recent achievements (we will endeavour to keep this list current):

  • 2007: SAJOCAH: Healthcare and Advancement of Education. The Client is SAJOCAH, Bafut, Cameroon. TMGF provided strategic consultancy in situ – on the ground in Cameroon with Staff – covering priorities, and means of working with the Diaspora to help the Disabled - a pretty disenfranchised part of the Cameroonian Community. This covers fund raising for operations for severely disabled children and their education.

  • 2007: BUST: Community Capacity Building and Advancement of Education. The Client is Bamenda University of Science & Technology (BUST), Cameroon. TMGF provided strategic consultancy in situ – on the ground in Cameroon with the Senate and Staff – covering priorities, debt refinancing, break even business planning and Diaspora contributions. Cameroon is in dire need of more capacity in tertiary education. Lectures covering these topics were delivered to University staff and students

  • 2007: BUST Community Development:-Indeed, the pro bono January 2007 BUST consultancy engagement has spun off 4 clear projects which TMGF will be working hand-in-hand and partnering with BUST over the rest of 2007.

  • 2007: Buea DIOCESE: Poverty Alleviation and Community Development: The client is the Catholic Diocese of Buea, Cameroon with significant challenges with its primary school infrastructure and poor teacher morale, etc. TMGF is providing strategic consultancy advice and is working with the Diocese to address some, e.g. looking at grants, appealing to ex-students in the Diaspora, etc.

  • 2006: Organised the first and widely-acclaimed African Diaspora Conference on Sustainable Development in July, 2006 with 150 Diasporas in attendance, in London, UK.

  • 2006: Published  the proceedings of the conference as a volume and some papers on our website (visit our old website: www.tmgcmr.org)

  • 2004 to date: CDEO and FASIRUD: We have very successful partnership arrangements with two NGOs in Cameroon which we have funded and mentored for 3years

Furthermore, being grassroots-based and bottom-up in approach, we are already maintaining an ever growing list of “partner” organisations in Cameroon in the vein of poverty alleviation, community development, healthcare and education
